BEFORE & AFTER

MOODBOARD

A look at competitors, case studies, and inspirations.

Client’s Brief:
The redesign of Camille Rose’s cleansing milk series’ labels should emphasize that it is pure and ingredient driven. It is suitable for all hair types texture wise, and each version benefits the hair differently. The label’s graphics and typography should be clear, elegant, and beautiful. The cleansing milk series competes on the shelf with other well-known products such as Shea Moisture and Carol’s Daughter which all boast its natural ingredients and are suitable for all hair type.

Design Rationale:
The illustrations and patterns associated with the bottle’s label redesign bring information and grab attention. The muted color palette provides more contrast against the bottle’s white color, is reminiscent of natural ingredients, and stands out on the shelf. The smaller logo and new typographic choices provide a label that balances sophisticated and homemade qualities.

FINAL CHOICE

The combination of a solid colored background and illustration emphasizes each bottle’s unique flower choice and purpose. Change from “cleansing milk” to “hair cleansing milk” in the title and additional description resolves the confusion to what the product is for 1) due to the association of cleansing milk to facial products 2) it is the first of its kind as a hair cleansing milk 3) lastly, the small size of the bottle.
